I thought I would send a quick
update of our trips this fall before we head out with the motorhome
(yes we had a moment of insanity and bought a motorhome) on Sunday.
We did 2 trips this fall; one to Florida and Disney World and one to
Mexico.
Ethan and Alyssa enjoyed all the rides and meeting characters such as Daisy Duck, Goofy, Jasmine, Peter Pan and many, many others. The girls did the Princess Breakfast while the boys did Space Mountain. I believe Ethan and Jason managed 4 times.
We also spent some time at the resort, Star Island doing some pool time and using their huge water slide.
The week went by quickly and soon
we were taking the others to the airport. We stayed on for another
week.
We spent a day at Epcot Center then spent the next week touring around that part of Florida.
We visited St. Petersburg, home of the Dali Museum. We had a lot of rain and there was a lot of flooding going on. Parking lots, roads, and ditches were all full of water.
We drove down to Ft. Myers and then back through the middle to the east coast. We did some beach walking, toured a few R.V. parks for future reference, checked out some towns and of course checked out some fabric stores. The funniest thing we saw was a building with a bank on one side and a Starbucks on the other. You could do your drive thru banking and pick up your coffee on your way out.

We also swam in a cenote which is a cavern filled with water on the way to Santa Elena. Then on to visit Uxmul and the Ruta Puuc.
There are 4 more ruins on the Ruta Puuc as well as a Cacao Plantation and some caves.
From here we returned our rental car and went to the Gran Bahia Principe Coba for the next week. We went to the beach, the pool, played cards, ate at the buffet and then repeated.
One day we did go to Cozumel to visit our friends, Val and Ken, who have a place there. Went for a great lunch at a local restaurant which is off the beaten path.
Thursday was the wedding. We know the groom, Mark, who was a Scout when Drew was a scout leader. It poured all day but the resort did have plan B which means we took over the Music Bar. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was great to see a young couple starting their new life.
We got home on Sunday to bitter cold and snow. Today it has snowed a ton. We plan to pack up the motorhome on Saturday and hopefully hit the road on Sunday. We’ll be spending a month between Phoenix and Tucson and then heading to the Baja for 2 months.
